Fiddle Blocks for Sailboats

A fiddle block carries two sheaves of different diameter on the same axle, one above the other, in a single body. That builds a multi-part purchase in one compact fitting instead of two blocks stacked on each other — so a vang, mainsheet or cunningham tackle stays short, pulls straight and doesn't twist on itself. Seldén fiddle blocks run from 40 mm to 80 mm, with or without a becket, a cam cleat or a hook.

Both bearing types are offered at 40 mm and 60 mm. Ball bearings suit moderate loads that you adjust while they're loaded. Plain bearings carry more load at the same sheave size, and are the better answer for a tackle that gets set and left.
